Experience and Career History:
Jonathan is a corporate, commercial and financing lawyer with extensive transactional experience. Prior to joining Virtual Law in January 2011, Jonathan was a Partner in the London office of Penningtons where he headed their North American practice group. He trained and subsequently worked in the corporate group at Linklaters and was a partner in the London offices of US law firms Sonnenschein and Buchanan Ingersoll.
Jonathan understands clients’ commercial imperatives and is able to see the whole picture. He is happy to get to grips with the detail while keeping a perspective on the job as a whole and is used to coordinating teams, and clients regard him as very much a part of their team and appreciate his committed and supportive approach.
His work has included corporate and business acquisitions and disposals, secured and unsecured financings, investment funds, group reorganisations and general corporate and commercial work. In particular, Jonathan has experience of cross-border transactions and international clients having been based in France for two years and subsequently been a partner at two US law firms. He has worked with clients ranging from individuals and privately-held companies through to PLCs and government departments. Client businesses have included healthcare, property development, car rentals, web marketing and education.
