FLexible solutions for YOUR IN-house legal needs

Virtual Law’s In-House Legal Service provides the means for you to expand the capability and capacity of your in-house legal team just when you need to. With no recruitment fees and for a considerably lower cost than you’d expect from a traditional law firm our In-House Legal Service won’t break the bank.

EXCEPTIONAL EXPERTISE

To ensure that demand can be met without diminishing the quality of advice, Virtual Law typically engages partner-level lawyers with at least 10 years PQE who hail from the Top 100 UK law firms, or senior in-house counsel from blue chip organisations. We include among our In-House Legal Service clients some of the biggest names in the automotive, air transport, oil and gas, defence, energy and environment and publishing industries.

ON-SITE, REMOTE OR BOTH?

To help you manage the fluctuations in your workload cost-effectively and efficiently, we offer a choice of two working models and a variety of contract types:

Our On-Site Service is where our experienced solicitors will work as part of your team, at your premises, for an agreed number of days per week. Our solicitors can be engaged on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, either on a fixed-term or rolling contract.  This can also be combined with remote-working, whereby our solicitors are still engaged by you but work from their own offices.

Our Remote Service offers the same expertise, commonly on an as-needed basis, but our solicitors work from their own office.  This service can be converted to reflect our on-site service if needed.  If this is required, your chosen solicitor will work as part of your team from home for an agreed number of days per week.

- ON-DEMAND GENERAL COUNSEL

Virtual Law’s In-House Legal Services are practical, flexible and economical resourcing solutions for businesses that need to expand their in-house legal teams on an ad hoc or short-term basis. Depending upon geographic location, we could possibly assist at very short notice. Our talented solicitors are senior‐level business lawyers with extensive experience of working in globally recognised organisations and in private practice. Their diverse industry experience enables them to step into a wide variety of businesses, quickly becoming an effective member of your in-house team. Virtual Law solicitors are available to act as temporary in-house counsel part-time or full-time, working on-site or remotely.

+ INTERIM PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Significant ad hoc projects, such as a major piece of litigation, require careful management at a senior level but can detract from General Counsel’s other responsibilities. Our experienced solicitors have extensive project management experience and many have industry-specific expertise. Our solicitors become the link between your organisation and your external legal providers, reporting directly to senior counsel, ensuring that you receive the most efficient and cost‐effective service.

+ INTEGRATED PROJECT SUPPORT

For those occasions when your in‐house team is overly busy or has taken on projects requiring additional resources. An interim team member provided by Virtual Law satisfies the need for relevant expertise and additional capacity without the considerable expense of recruiting additional permanent staff or retaining external lawyers.

+ REMOTE OR ON-SITE?

Virtual Law’s In-House Legal Services are offered through a choice of two working models. If you need an experienced solicitor on the ground, opt for our On-Site Service. Our solicitor will work at your site for an agreed number of days per week. We can also include a day or two off-site where our solicitor works from his or her own premises but dedicates an agreed number of hours to your business. Our solicitors can be engaged on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, either on a fixed-term or rolling contract. If you’re trying to keep overheads to a minimum, our Remote Service is probably the package for you. It offers the same expertise on an as-needed basis, but our solicitors work remotely, relieving your of the need to find an extra desk.
